WAYS TO SUPPORT

Giving: Ways to Support YLBB and the Glenda Davis Deese Foundation

Making a gift to the GDDF and YLBB transforms lives. Please join with others who care, and are working to empower economically and socially disadvantaged youth with knowledge, expertise, resources, and experiences that will provide skills and opportunities for socioeconomic advancement. Working together, we can be advocates for change within our community and the Black Belt region of Alabama.

Gifts of Cash
You can give by check or credit card, on-line at www.youthleadershipblackbelt.org or by sending a check in the mail.

Gifts from Employer Matching Programs
Check if your employer matches the charitable contributions of its employees. If so, your employer’s donation will leverage your gift.

Gifts of Appreciated Stock
If you have owned stock for more than a year, consider donating it to the Glenda Davis Deese Foundation. You will receive a deduction for its fair market value on the date of transfer and you will avoid capital gains tax.

Gifts from your IRA
If you are 70 ½ or older, the IRA gift provision allows you to donate money directly from your IRA to the Glenda Davis Deese Foundation without paying income tax on that withdrawal, and you are able to deduct the value of the gift as a charitable donation.

Gifts in Honor or in Memory
Celebrate a significant occasion – a birth or a birthday, a wedding or graduation – with a gift to the Glenda Davis Deese Foundation. We will send your friend or relative a card indicating that you have made a gift in their honor.

Consider donating to the Glenda Davis Deese Foundation in lieu of flowers to memorialize a loved one. We will send a note to the family letting them know of your thoughtfulness.

Gifts through Bequests
Consider making the Glenda Davis Deese Foundation a beneficiary of a portion of your estate.

Other Planned and Deferred Gifts
There are many other ways to make a gift to the Foundation, from life insurance to gifts of property. Please contact the Development Director at the Foundation to discuss these options.

The Glenda Davis Deese Foundation is designated as a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service and contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. If you have any questions or would like to explore particular ways to give, please call us at 334-413-3331.

Always consult your tax advisor about your specific financial circumstances.
